Your studio machine¶
Your studio PC arrives with everything installed and configured. This page explains what's running on it and how to tell that everything is ready.
The two things you interact with¶
The studio app is where you do the work — voice, performance, camera, recording, and rendering. It opens like any normal application.
The system tray app manages the background engine. You'll find its icon in the Windows taskbar tray (bottom-right corner of the screen). The engine it manages does the heavy lifting behind the scenes: voice generation, lip-sync analysis, and the AI render. You rarely need to touch it — but its icon is how you check that everything is up and running.
Starting up¶
Turn on the machine and give the engine a moment to boot. The tray icon colour tells you the overall state:

| 🟢 Green | Everything is running and ready |
| 🔴 Red | A service has an error |
Wait for green before starting work. On a cold start this usually takes 30–60 seconds.
Inside the studio, the status dots at the top of the screen mirror this — Runtime, TTS (voice), and Render should all show green before you begin.
Stuck on orange?
Right-click the tray icon and choose Restart all, then wait for green. This is the standard recovery step for almost anything — see Troubleshooting if it doesn't help.
What the engine does¶
You never operate the engine directly, but it helps to know what it's doing for you:
- Voice generation — turns your written lines into spoken audio in the avatar's voice.
- Lip-sync analysis — works out the mouth timing so the avatar speaks convincingly.
- AI render — transforms your recorded performance into the final stylized look.
The studio shows you the readiness of each of these through its status dots, so it's always clear at a glance when something is still warming up.
